Hello there,
I’m Aldair, the creator of Tokyo Drips. I just wanted to tell you what it was that inspired me to create this brand.
Back in 2016, I started my college journey to become a Civil Engineer. I thought I chose the right path, based solely because my family has been working on the construction industry for all their life, and therefore I was also having a job at the same company my father had been working for many years. I was still a kid, with no clear goal in mind as to what I wanted to devote my life to.
Everything seemed to be going alright in the beginning, I had met some friends that felt good being around with and my grades were decent. Even though everything was looking alright, I still wasn’t sure it was the right path I wanted to take. As time passed by, I got more and more discouraged. In return, my grades started to drop more and more. The few friends that I had made, coincidentally dropped out of the program and where pursuing different careers.
I was left all alone, feeling like I didn’t fit in with anyone. I didn’t like where I was standing, confused and depressed, I didn’t know what to for my future. I needed time, so I made a choice to temporarily drop out of college, taking a year to think what I wanted to do with my life, while working in construction.
When I got back to college, I met a friend who was so enthusiastic about him selling on Amazon that it caught my attention. At first, I thought about doing the same thing as him and wanted to sell Chinese products on there too, but it didn’t feel right. I chose not to but was intrigued about starting my own business and forging my own path.
You see, I always loved street fashion. Every time sneakers would drop; I would try to get me a pair. Once I got it, I would try to match it with a new shirt too. One day while browsing through my phone, I got a few ads from brands I had been watching a while back. I thought that it was fascinating how they had created a community and made a name for themselves. Then it hit me, what is holding me back from creating a brand myself?
After months of trial and error and thousands of my hard-earned money down the drain, I finally created Tokyo Drips. I decided I would devote myself to this brand no matter the cost. My dream since the beginning was to create a community where everyone can share the passion for Japanese tuned cars. I always saw these cool cars in the street and thought they were the coolest thing. After joining some Facebook groups about car tuning, I realized the community was also the coolest thing, they were such a perfect group of people who I wanted to be part of. The passion and brotherhood that is shown in the community is comparable to no other.
Tokyo Drips not only wishes to offer cool looking clothes for enthusiasts, but quality and customer satisfaction is the top priority. After all, customers are what makes a brand succeed. We love giving a voice to those who struggle to have one by expressing themselves through our designs.
This journey is far from over, but Tokyo Drips’ dream goal is slowly becoming a reality thanks to people like you. My question to you is.
Will you join us?
